Spa Topic:
The easiest way to attain beautiful skin look and get rid of enlarged pores!
Although genetics may be partially to blame, enlarged pores tend to be more noticeable on oily, thick and sun damaged skin, which is caused by hormonal changes, dehydration pore-clogging make-up and improper exfoliation. And all of these can eventually lead to breakouts. However, all of these can also be treated by the combination of non-invasive treatment with little or no downtime, and the usage of specific skincare products.
At Luna’s Skin and Med Spa we offer Deep Pore Cleansing with derma blade (physical exfoliation with a surgical blade). We also recommend Deep Pore Cleansing with derma blade before treatments such as Rejuvenation laser, Laser to treat facial veins or Skin tightening (THERMAGE).
It is necessary to mention that Deep pore Cleansing with derma blade is suitable for every type of skin and tailored specifically to address individual skin problems.
The key to beautiful clear skin is a combination of exfoliation and hydration. When dead skin is not removed, it can block and clog pores and leave a dull, sallow complexion. You will see the result rights away, and will be pleasantly surprised by luminous and glowing look of your face.
Medical Topic:
“I have a condition called “hirsutism”. What is it and can it be treated?”
The term hirsutism is defined as excessive and increased hair growth in women in locations where the occurrence of terminal hair normally is minimal or absent. It refers to a male pattern of body hair and it is therefore primarily of cosmetic and psychological concern.
Hirsutism is a symptom rather than a disease and may be a sign of a more serious medical indication, especially if it develops well after puberty. The cause of hirsutism can be either an increased level of androgens (male hormones) or an oversensitivity of hair follicles to androgens. Hirsutism only affects women, since the rising of androgens causes a male pattern of body hair, particularly in locations where women normally do not develop terminal hair such as the chest, abdomen, back, shoulders, arms, thighs, pubic and lower abdominal area and buttocks.
This condition can be treated by a combination of prescribed medications and laser hair removal procedures. We recommend starting laser treatment 30 days after taking the prescribed medications.
At Luna’s Skin and Med Spa we have Alexandrite and Gentle Yag (dark skin) lasers for treating this and other skin conditions. Call (757) 428-9059 to schedule an appointment for consultation.
